Security inspection projects of Rio 2016 Olympic Games and 2016 Rio Paralympic Games

  “Security comes first in organizing the biggest game on earth.” The security of large-scale sporting events has always been a concern. In order to ensure the safety of 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, Brazil has launched the largest ever security linkage plan, and there will be 85,000 people from departments of police, fire control, military, etc. involving in security work, twice of 2012 London Olympic Games.

  As the provider of security solutions and services of comprehensive and large-scale sports events, Nuctech Company Limited (Nuctech) has provided security assurance for IAAF World Champions 2015, The Championships, Wimbledon, 2014 The Winter Olympics in Sochi, 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, The 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, accumulating rich and mature service experience.

  The Nuctech security inspection devices were mainly used in entrances of four competition areas of the Olympic Games including Barra, Deodoro, Maracanã and Copacabana, as well as in staff channels, shopping malls, transport centers, etc. of the Olympic village.

  Within the 28 days from Rio 2016 Olympic Games opened on August 6, 2016 to 2016 Rio Paralympic Games closed on September 19, 2016, more than 200 Nuctech security inspection devices, which were installed in entrances of four competition areas as well as in staff channels, shopping malls, transport centers, inspected a total of more than 8 million people. During the competition, Nuctech security inspection devices operated smoothly, highly praised by Ministry of Justice and Public Security of Brazil.   After the closing ceremony of 2016 Rio Paralympic Games, the security inspection devices in each competition site were packed overnight, sent to Brazilian jails, and used for personnel security inspection in entries and exits after installed and debugged.
